Charlotte Winifred Guérard is a French artist based in London currently in her final year at the Royal Academy of Arts Schools, where she is the recipient of the Paul Smith Foundation Scholarship.
She has won the 2020 Freelands Foundation Painting Prize and, in the summer of 2024, undertook the Porthmeor Residency in St Ives.
Her practice centres around painting and the ways in which those can be viewed, activated and displayed. Her work explores the notions of painting in space and paintings in motion while the narrative of her images is influenced by her immediate surroundings, landscapes, the everyday and memory.
In November 2024, Charlotte will open Matthew’s Boat, her first solo exhibition with Palmer Gallery.
